Summer Flies By

Hello Friends

It has been so long since I have had a moment – or anything very interesting to impart.
I can't believe it is almost the River Romp Weekend and Summer seems to be flying by.

In June around the 10th we made a trip to Moses Lake to see the new place that Jesse and Amanda rented. They were anxious to have a place suitable for all of Jesse's children for visitation – which is in legal action at this time. What a charming place – and in just a few days time – they have done so much with it. It is baby safe and ready. Amanda is wonderful. On June 25th with the move done and the house furnished the happy couple had a small private wedding in their own back yard with the Justice of Peace officiating.

We couldn't be more thrilled. The oldest two children have been allowed to stay over –night on a few occasions. I have never seen Jesse happier.

As soon as the rains stopped or almost stopped in Salem, Ron & I started work on our leaky deck roof. He took out the skylight – recovered the roof with shingles, took down all the old leady gutters and we are yet in the process of finishing that project.

I selected the week of the 25th of July to paint our duplex. Tim told me "I have Friday the 22nd off – why don't we get Eli to help too – and we can do it in a weekend!!! Wow!
We have GREAT KIDS! Jack loaned us his airless spray painter. Tim did half of the duplex on the first day. Eli came to help the second day on Saturday and he and Tim worked together to mask and spray the second half. Ron & I did trim and ran for whatever the boys needed.

We took Sunday the 24th off and on Monday Eli came back to help again. He went on the roof and completely cleaned it and then trimmed branches that were hanging over the roof and causing gutter back-ups. He was amazing. He laid on his belly and hung over the highest point of the roof to paint the fascia trim. Then he painted the gutters on the front and was all done by 3:30 in the afternoon.

Ron & I took a couple of days off and went back Thursday the 28th to cut up and haul away the limbs and debris from the back. It took two full truck loads of yard debris. Now we just have a little trim to touch up!! It is done – and I am so pleased.

On Friday the 29th we came home from our haircut appointment in the morning and were finally relaxing on our outdoor swing. That's when we heard a desperate feline cry for help. We found her on one of our chairs on our deck. She told us in no uncertain terms she needed help – and from the look of her skinny little bones sticking out everywhere we were sure she was right.
We invited her in. We gave her a couple of days to recover and then I took her to the Humane Society to have her scanned. She did have a chip and I was given the number to call. She has front paws de-clawed – has already been spayed – and is guessed to be 5 years or less.

I almost cried when I learned she had a chip. I have fallen in Love with this "Baby Love".

When I called AVID I was told that "unfortunately" the owners had not registered the number so there is no way to find her family. SAD and GLAD! Ron & I both Love little "Baby Love". She is so cute and good. She is feeling better every day.

Ron has gone fishing today after delivering two dental chairs to Albany, Oregon. That is close to a fishing area he likes – so perhaps we can have a fish feed soon.

Love to all. Thanks for visiting the blog.
